Our History of Supporting Veterans

Merrimack College was founded in 1947 by the Order of St. Augustine to educate returning World War II veterans for the post-war workforce. We are dedicated to supporting the transition of veterans and military-affiliated students to Merrimack College in pursuit of academic and professional success.

Is Merrimack College a GI Bill®-approved school?

Yes, Merrimack College is a GI Bill®-approved school. However, you will need to check with the school to ensure that the GI Bill® covers your preferred degree program.

Is Merrimack College a Yellow Ribbon school?

Yes.  Eligible veterans using the Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) receive up to 100% coverage on tuition and fees.

Merrimack participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program to cover a portion of the remaining costs—in most cases, there is no out-of-pocket tuition expense for graduate or undergraduate programs.

Does Merrimack College offer a military discount or reduced tuition rates for military and veterans?

Yes, Merrimack College does offer a military discount or reduced tuition for military and veterans. You should verify with Merrimack to find out if the rate is below the military tuition assistance cap of $250 per credit hour. Otherwise, you may have out-of-pocket tuition costs for which you would be responsible.
