Deputy Director, Veteran Initiatives, Programs, and Services
Mike served 16 years in the Air Force from 2001-2018 as an Arabic Linguist and Intelligence Analyst at the National Security Agency and an Arabic Instructor and Academic Advisor at the Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey, CA. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom III-IV and Operation Inherent Resolve, he spent most of his career focused on the Iraq theater, though he did moonlight in support of other operations throughout the globe. In his last role, he directed the intelligence processing and targeting mission for the Air Force's support to Operation Inherent Resolve. Prior to that, he served as the senior academic advisor and language instructor to the Air Force's Arabic linguist population at DLI. That was the job that made him want to eventually land in higher education.
